1918 WWI SOLDIER MAIL Postcard Spanish Flu Epidemic at Camp Funston Kansas B1 For Sale

Vintage standard-size, colorized postcard depicting a child with a "Choice Peaches" tag. There is a romantic greeting included. This is a very interesting postcard. It was written by Army soldier C. S. Rubio, Company 24, 164 D. B., Camp Funston, Kansas on July 31, 1918. He was there for the Spanish flu quarantine and tells "Pearlie" that they will probably be moved in 3 weeks, when the quarantine is over. Camp Funston was where the Spanish Flu influenza epidemic made itsfirst majorappearance.Troops from the camp carried the virus to other Army bases in WWI. 50 million people died world-wide, including 675,000 Americans.
