This is a rare brass Glynne sundial, used, original , an incredible solid brass, science oriented, astronomer's tool....a sundial made by the famous "Virginia Metalcrafters" from an 18th century design by R. Glynne (embossed on the sundial surface, ''R. Glynne Fecit''). It has the metalcrafter's name and manufacturing date - Virginia Metalcrafters 1985 - embossed on the underside of the solid brass, exquisite sundial, next to the ''Smithsonian Institute" symbol also embossed in metal, next to it. This sundial, with its gorgeous highly detailed face, would be equally beautiful inside your home as in your garden. This sundial has finely carved lines for the Months of the Year, Roman Numerals around the circumference divided by minutes and seconds, and, divisions marked: "Watch Faster" and "Watch Slower".
