The vase has Powder Blue ground with a distinct mottled effect.Superbly hand painted with exotic pattern & raised enameldecoration. The main element of the PERSIAN pattern depicts apavilion in an exotic garden. In the center of the pavilion, a sultansits cross-legged on a peacock throne. On the carpet before him, twomusicians play their instruments and two standing figures ply bowlsof fruits. The pattern, by Enoch Boulton, is likely to have beeninspired or perhaps copied from a Persian manuscript. The vaseinteriorhas lustre iridescent creamy ground.The bottom of the vase has wide border with gold scroll-work calledPersian Border. The top interior border is adorned with another goldpattern called Persian Border Bead. Thevase is marked with a special back-stamp printed in gold as shown onlast 2 images.
