1850s quarter-plate daguerreotype of a little girl - looks like there's a posing stand partially visible behind her.Housed in its original case: a rare and beautiful wood and leather push-button case with mother-of-pearl and hand-painted flowers over black lacquer on the front, and pebbled leather on the back.
Image has its original intact seals and is clear and sharp, but the underside of the glass (not the plate) is a little dirty and affects the clarity of my scan. No scratches, dings, or abrasions on the plate noted.
Case is 4.75" x 3.75" when closed. The covers are separated along the spine, otherwise the case is in very good antique condition... none of the MOP inlays are missing. The velvet pad is excellent and the push-button hardware is present and functional.
