Mark of ceramics – Gzhel.'Gzhel' - one of the traditional centers of Russian production of ceramics.The broader meaning of the name "Gzhel",is correct from a historical and cultural point of view -it is a large area consisting of 27 villages, united in "Gzhel bush."Gzhel has long been famous for its clay.Extensive production of different varieties of claywas conducted from mid-17th century.In 1663, Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich issued a decree Gzhel district.In 1770 Gzhel town was completely attributed to the Apothecaryorder "to alchemical dishes."The great Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, to appreciate Gzhel clay,wrote about them so sublime words: "...There is hardly any land the purestand without primeshaniya where in the world, koyu chemists called virgins,except between china clay drink, is we Gzhel ...which I have seen nowhere better than the whiteness ... ".Until the middle of the XVIII century Gzhel is usuallydone for the time pottery, made bricks, pottery pipes, tiles,as well as primitive toys, supplying them to Moscow.By 1812 there were 25 in Gzhel factories producing dishes.The factory still works.
