This lovely piece is hand woven from naturally colored fibers. It is in excellent condition with no holes or stains. A few pieces of fringe are missing and a few others have been tied together. I believe this was done to use as loops for hanging on the wall. Please see photos for details.
Photos show both sides of the blanket. The front and back are almost impossible to tell apart and I'm not sure there is a "wrong" side, but what I assume is supposed to be the back has a few more nubs than the front. Photos of the front show the Cowboys riding to the left. The wrong side shows them riding to the right.
The previous owner collected it in Guatemala in the 1980s. This rug is true folk art. The 8 stylized vaqueros (cowboys) are unique to these Guatemalan weavers. This is a piece you will treasure for years to come.
