Assassinated 25th President of the United States WILLIAM McKINLEY scarce early handwritten autograph Indictment signed as "Prosecuting Attorney for the County of Stark and State of Ohio". Front side of the encapsulate features McKinley'sfull signature as "William McKinley, Jr.", with flourish. The back side features an incredibly lengthy25 handwritten lines all in McKinley's hand.
McKinley served as theprosecuting attorney of Stark County, Ohio from 1869-1871. On June 8, 1871, McKinley filed an Indictment of Forgery with intent to unlawfully defraud against A.B. Way alleging that in April of 1871, Way had forged a bad promissory note in the amount of $200.
By the time McKinley had reached the Presidency he had shortened his signature quite a bit, eventually even dropping the "Jr." from his autograph. This is an excellent opportunity to own an early full name example to your collection.
