🏛️ HISTORICAL CONTEXT
🕰️ The 75th Anniversary designation establishes the club’s origin in 1872, and surviving railroad trade literature independently confirms that the New York Railroad Club held its Golden Jubilee / 50th Anniversary at the Hotel Commodore in December 1922. That contemporary account reports more than 2,000 members and guests attending the 1922 banquet.
🚂 The club had a long-established role as a professional forum for railroad men. Surviving early-20th-century volumes of its Official Proceedings document its regular technical and organizational activities, and volumes survive from at least the early 1900s onward.
