*RARE* OLD ROYAL COPENHAGEN DENMARK PORCELAIN FIGURINE OF A DACHSHUND MODEL 850 For Sale

A rare and desirable porcelain figurine of a seated Dachshund dog produced by Royal Copenhagen (Denmark).This is model 850 in colorway 1238 by artist Erik Nielsen. Nielsen worked at RC from 1887-1926. This figurine has a painter\'s number (50) beside the hallmark. Painter\'s numbers were dropped in favor of artist\'s initials in 1923-1928.The hallmark on this specific figurine dates to use between 1898 and 1923. From this data we can conclude that this Dachshund was produced in about 1923. Quite an old one!Not only is this Dachshund beautifully modeled and decorated, it is impressive in size as well, measuring 8 3/4\" tall by 12\" long. It is fully hallmarked under the base and has the artist\'s name impressed in the mold. It is of first quality (no scratch through the hallmark). No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations as examined under black light and lighted magnification. There is a tiny glaze pop on the top of the right shoulder, shown in the last photo.
