The legendary British prime minister was one of the Cuban cigar maker's most famous devotees, and his association with Romeo y Julieta became so enduring that the brand's famous long cigar format became known simply as theโChurchill.โ
This is a great little collection ofthree vintage 1990s Romeo y Julieta leather cigar cases, all manufactured in Italy and dating from an earlier generation of the company's luxury accessories.
Included aretwo three-cigar cases and one two-cigar case, in black and two shades of brown/tan. Each features beautifully molded individual cigar channels, stitched leather construction, telescoping adjustment andRomeo y Julieta embossed directly into the leather. The cases are stampedMADE IN ITALY.
And these have exactly the sort of character I like to see in vintage leather.
The black and darker brown examples show considerable use, with scratches, scuffs, rubbing and wonderfully developed patina. The lighter tan example is noticeably cleaner. All three remain structurally sound and extremely displayable.
I have not attempted to restore or refinish them.
Romeo y Julieta was founded inHavana in 1875, making this a great group for a cigar enthusiast, Romeo y Julieta collector, Churchill enthusiast, tobacciana collector or anyone who appreciates vintage Italian leather goods.
