This dybbuk box was discovered during an estate cleanout in Central Texas. It was found tucked deep in the attic of a long-abandoned farmhouse, wedged behind a wall panel that had to be removed to access it. The home had been in one family for generations, and according to neighbors, the last resident became increasingly reclusive before passing away.
The box is tightly sealed with thick, aged wax, and each side is marked with red crosses—clearly applied by hand and with intention. Its exterior has an unsettling, ritual-like appearance. Based on the way it was hidden and sealed, this wasn’t meant to be found casually. It feels like something meant to stay closed.
