Offered is a wonderful group of 10 original vintage Cracker Jack miniature plastic railroad prize toys, believed to date primarily from around 1955.
These tiny molded plastic trains were included as premium prizes in Cracker Jack during the classic mid-century era. Several pieces are clearly molded with “CRACKER JACK” lettering, including the distinctive KerChoo steam locomotives.
The lot contains an interesting assortment of steam locomotives, streamlined railroad equipment, passenger/baggage cars, freight equipment and cabooses in several original molded colors including brick red/mauve, dark blue-gray, olive/gray-green, gray and bright yellow.
Especially nice are the two matching KerChoo steam locomotives, which feature detailed molded boilers, smokestacks, wheels, cowcatchers and tenders marked CRACKER JACK. The lot also includes a streamlined diesel-type locomotive, another steam locomotive, long passenger/baggage cars, a yellow freight/box car and three cabooses.
These are actual miniature Cracker Jack prize toys rather than modern reproductions or model-railroad equipment. They are very small promotional toys intended as Cracker Jack box prizes and make an excellent addition to a collection of vintage advertising premiums, cereal and candy prizes, miniature trains, vending toys or mid-century plastics.
