1800s Early 1900’s Brass Special Officer Badge Emblem Resembles Pennsylvania
Size 2 1/8” x 1 7/8”
This is an antique brass "Special Officer" badge featuring a state seal design, commonly associated with 19th-century or early 20th-century law enforcement or private security.
Type: Scalloped-edge or shield-style brass badge.Inscriptions: "SPECIAL" arched across the top and "OFFICER" arched across the bottom.Central Emblem: A molded state seal (resembling the Pennsylvania state coat of arms or a similar regional variant) with horses and an eagle at the crest.
The back of the badge shows a vintage T-bar pin with an open C-catch, which is strong evidence that this is a late 19th-century or early 20th-century original piece rather than a modern reproduction.
