Since we last wrote you, we have had an agreeable change in the weather, and as we anticipated, clear skies have given our Flour trade more animation; - a few cold days will close our Canal navigation, and cause increased firmness in the quotations for the higher grades of Breadstuffs. - The rebel privateer has not been heard of recently, and consequently less fear seems to be entertained with regard to her operations. - Gold has remained without any change of moment for several days past, but we think the impression is increasing, that Congress will authorize the issue of another batch of Legal tender notes, so that unless our army achieves some very important success speedily, we cannot see much probability of going back to specie payments; on the contrary, should reverses overtake our arms, and the laboring classes take a panic, they would hoard Gold to an extent sufficient to put the premium up to 50%. - Articles of intrinsic value, and of absolute necessity, cannot under present circumstances decline much.
