The front artwork presents a fascinating assortment of late-19th-century imagery depicting people from different cultures and regions, and their connection to horses. The group includes Native American, Cossack, Bedouin, cowboy, Hungarian and Balkan subjects, making it an especially interesting example of the broad range of themes found in early Stollwerck chocolate cards.
The six cards also have a nice connection as a group, with each image accompanied by a short illustrated poem or story on the reverse. The backs feature Stollwerck advertising and identify the cards as Gruppe 169 from Stollwerck's Sammel-Album Nr. 4.
