Original 1907 Pennsylvania porcelain automobile license plate, number 3838. Early white-on-red Pennsylvania issue manufactured by Ingram Richardson of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, with the maker’s stamp still visible on the reverse.
Measures approximately 8¼” wide x 6½” high.
Displays beautifully with bold white numbers and “PENNA 1907” lettering against the deep red porcelain background. This is an early four-digit plate and a wonderful piece of Pennsylvania automotive and transportation history.
Condition is antique/pre-owned with expected age-related wear, including scratches, scattered small porcelain losses and edge chips. There is more noticeable enamel loss around the upper-right mounting slot and some wear around the other mounting points and edges. Reverse shows surface wear, discoloration and remnants consistent with age and use. Please review all photos closely for exact condition.
