Original August 13, 1912 business letter on attractive illustrated letterhead of The Sale Lithograph Co., Buffalo, NY, established 1908 and formerly Dietzer-Sale Litho. Co.
The letter is addressed to Corry Hide & Fur Co., Corry, PA and concerns a corrected printing proof being returned to the customer. The company notes that it changed the position of the words “State, Charges, etc.” and assures the recipient that everything will be in proper alignment on the finished edition.
The letterhead features an especially appealing large circular brown-and-gold lithographic emblem reading “The Sale Lithograph Co., Buffalo, N.Y.” The upper margin also lists company officers, including Robert J. Sale, President, and Charles G. Denny, Secretary & Treasurer. Signed in ink on behalf of the company.
A nice piece of early 20th-century commercial printing and lithography history, with content directly related to the proofing and production process.
