Pre-Attack Pearl Harbor Navy Yard Identification Pass — January 1941 — with 1931 Companion Card
Offered as a documented two-piece grouping tied to the same family. Please sell/keep together — each piece corroborates the other.
Piece 1 — Identification Pass, U.S. Navy Yard, Pearl Harbor, Territory of Hawaii. Dated January 21, 1941 — under eleven months before the December 7 attack, while Hawaii was still a U.S. territory (\"T.H.\"). A folding, photo-bearing pass issued to Blanche C. Parry, wife of H. S. Parry, Associate Civil Engineer (P-3) at the Navy Yard. Purpose of entry: Commissary Store. The pass carries her photograph, her signature, the authorizing \"Head of concern\" signature, and the Captain of the Yard countersignature. Printed Form 8-A (Submarine Base, Pearl Harbor).
The listed address is Aiea Heights, Aiea, Oahu — the ridge neighborhood that sits directly above Pearl Harbor, one of the closest civilian vantage points to the harbor. This was a Navy Yard household living on that ridge during the pre-war buildup.
Piece 2 — 1931 auto insurance card, United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, issued to H. S. Parry of Robbinsville, North Carolina, covering a DeSoto Coupe (policy expiring April 18, 1931). It bears H. S. Parry\'s own signature. Together the two cards trace the same man from a small western-North-Carolina town in 1931 to a civil engineer\'s post at Pearl Harbor by 1941.
Condition: Both show honest age — toning/foxing and edge wear consistent with the years; the 1941 pass has some edge splitting at the fold. Complete, legible, photograph intact. Please see photos, which form part of the description. Sold as-is.
