August 22, 1945 Army Air Forces issued Final Report of Procurement,Inspection, Testing and Acceptance of the Lockheed XP-49 Experimental Lightning Fighter Airplane, AAF Technical Report 5271, 30 pages including cardstock covers SCANNED ON CD FROM MY ORIGINAL REPORT, NOT FROM A REPRINT OR BOOTLEGGED FROM SOMEONE ELSE! Please view the attached SCANS for a sample of the content and SCAN quality! This report was produced by the AAF specifically for the XP-49 airplane, which was a experimental version of the P-38 with a pressurized cockpit, armed with two 20MM cannons and four .50 cal machine guns, and powered by two Continental IX-1430 liquid cooled engines!! Only ONE was built and had various issues and was eventually flown to Wright Field and work was halted on it. This is VERY RARE information that you will never see ANYWHERE!!
