Original, early 1950s McCandlish Lithograph Co. die-cut Santa Claus stand-up, featuring a full-body, richly colored holiday graphic with bright reds, greens, and golden yellow accents.
>>Condition: This large, tri-fold 59.5 inch / 5 Foot floor display retains it's fold out easel back and presents well overall. Edge and corner wear and nail hole at bottom of Santa's beard. Bottom panel has separated from the middle panel, and is easily repairable with kraft paper packing tape. Bottom left corner has some paper loss. Fold across toy sack shows separation of paper-from-cardboard and surface loss. Despite these flaws, the colors remain strong and the piece displays impressively when assembled and repaired.
McCandlish Lithograph Company produced some of the era's highest quality lithograph advertising, supplying Coca-Cola / Coke, department stores, drugstores, and variety shops with large-format festive displays to promote Christmas & holiday merchandise. Full-size Santa stand-ups were often used near toy aisles and store entrances, but few survive due to their fragile cardboard construction and seasonal use.
