This 1963? Florida,Georgia & Alabama road map was issued by the Humble Oil & Refining Company(Esso). The map has a 1962 copyright and the legend is marked October 1962.However, the archival envelope it came in is marked 1963 (3rdPrinting) and the code on the map (W863) indicates it was printed late inAugust of 1963. This map is in excellent original condition as shown in thephoto and came from the General Drafting Map Company archives. If there is astamp or writing on the top of the front cover, it was put there by the GeneralDrafting Company since this map is from their archival files.
I was fortunate tohave been able to buy several boxes of archival maps from the General DraftingMap Company after they were bought out by Langenscheidt and absorbed into theAmerican Map Company. There is a variety of maps and all are stored in datedenvelopes with 1 or 2 maps in each. Most are stamped and/or dated on the cover,but a few are not.
