Up for sale is an incredibly charming and highly collectible matching set of two (2) vintage Enesco Imports Japan ceramic novelty boot planters/toothpick holders. This whimsical mid-century set features an adorable Siamese kitten climbing one brown boot and a sweet puppy dog perched on the other.
This set is an absolute collector's dream for two major reasons: 1. Dual Labels & Model Stamps Intact: Both pieces feature the original red and gold metallic Enesco Japan foil stickers on the heels. The puppy boot is stamped with model E-3381 and the kitten boot is stamped with model E-3441, showing they are part of a matching sequential vintage collection.
2. Historical Provenance: Both boots still retain their original yellow and red paper souvenir ribbons from the 1964 Illinois State Fair! Both Enesco figurines are in good vintage condition with wonderful gloss and vibrant colors. There are no major chips, cracks, or repairs. Though there are a few cups pictured on the dog, and the cat’s tail was repaired as well. But the stickers on these planters is in pristine condition. The stamped model numbers are perfectly legible, and the base stickers are completely intact. The 1964 Illinois State Fair paper banners show minor age-appropriate wear but remain entirely legible and firmly attached.
