1966 Vintage Press Photo by UNITED PRESS.America's GT-8 spaceship has cleared the last big hurdle in the long series of tests leading up to the March 15 start of a new space spectacle, calling for the first two-satellite hookup and a record "walk" around the world.
The spacecraft is scheduled to rendezvous with the orbiting Agena 5.5 hours after the launch and fly formation with it for 45 minutes. The astronaut Neil Armstrong will attempt to hook Gemini 8 up with the Agena to give the United States another space "first."
