Original United States Naval Academy midshipman uniform , custom tailored by Jacob Reed’s Sons of Norristown, Pennsylvania.
The original tailor label is named “KNOTT, D.A.” and dated 10/67 (October 1967). Research indicates these likely belonged to David Anthony Knott, U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1971, who subsequently served as a United States Marine Corps aviator, attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and commanded HMLA-267.
Research tells me Knott was killed in an operational helicopter accident on June 19, 1991, while serving with HMLA-267.
