Some of those who gathered at Kreeger\'s in Uptown Square for an informal fashion show and party honoring the wives of those attending the Southern Governors\' Conference here include (at left, from left) Sonia Parris, of Virginia; Honey Alexander, wife of the governor of Tennessee, Elise du Pont, wife of the governor of Tennessee; Elise du Pont, wife of the governor of Delaware; Edwina Dalton, wife of the governor of Virginia, and Mary Beth Busbee, wife of the governor of Georgia. It wasn\'t your typical political gathering. In fact, according to Louisiana\'s First Lady Elaine Edwards, it wasn\'t like anything ever done before for the wives of governors visiting here. \"I have found that at meetings such as this one of the Southern Governors\' Association, there are so many planned activities for the wives. You get so tired of going from one to another. You want to relax, perhaps shop...pick up things you need such as a pair of pantyhose or something to bring home...but you almost feel guilty about going off shopping or taking the time for yourself,\" said Mrs. Edwards.
