Pair of original antique stereoview photographs depicting historic Independence Hall, also known as the Pennsylvania State House, in Philadelphia.
Both were produced by James Cremer, Photographer and Publisher, 18 South Eighth Street, Philadelphia, and show different views of the famous building where the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution are closely associated with American history.
One card is identified on the front as No. 205 – Independence Hall. Both retain elaborate printed historical information on the reverse headed “Independence Hall or ‘State House,’ Philadelphia,” describing the building and its importance in American history.
Attractive early Philadelphia architectural stereographs dating to approximately the 1870s era, particularly appropriate to the period surrounding America’s 1876 Centennial.
Condition shows expected age wear including toning, staining/foxing, edge and corner wear, minor creasing and surface wear. Printed backs remain quite legible. Please examine photographs closely for condition.
