Up for sale is a premium lot of two (2) antique Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) official member ribbon badges. Includes their exceptionally rare original manufacturer protective paper envelopes from the iconic Whitehead & Hoag Co. of Newark, New Jersey.
Dual-Sided Reversible Design
These pieces feature a complete dual-purpose design used by lodge members for different occasions:
* Front (Ceremonial/Parade Side): Features vibrant red silk backing beautifully embroidered with metallic wire lettering and borders, crossed American flags, and a central celluloid insert depicting an allegorical charity scene.
* Reverse (In Memoriam / Funeral Side): Designed specifically for funeral processions and lodge mourning. The black silk backing features the sacred I.O.O.F. three-link chain symbol, the organization's initials "F.L.T." (Friendship, Love, and Truth), and "In Memoriam" text. The ornate top metal clasp reverses to display a detailed, stamped black-and-silver memorial configuration.
