2 Pc Oklahoma Fossil Brachiopod Lot Grand Lake NE OK Paleozoic Marine Fossils.
Offered here is a beautiful two-piece lot of genuine Paleozoic marine fossils collected from formations in the Grand Lake region of northeastern Oklahoma.
Both specimens display excellent natural shell structure and preservation. One specimen has a particularly attractive smooth, pearly-looking interior surface with visible growth structure, while the second retains prominent ribbed shell ornamentation along with additional fossil material incorporated into the surrounding matrix.
These specimens come from a region of northeastern Oklahoma known for fossil-bearing Mississippian and Pennsylvanian-age sedimentary formations, deposited when this portion of North America was covered by ancient shallow seas. Brachiopods, crinoids, bryozoans, corals, gastropods and other marine organisms are characteristic fossils of these Paleozoic rocks.
