These 2 potholders are handmade of 100% cotton front and back, with 2 flannel layers surrounding a layer of batting (80% cotton, 20% poly). They are machine washable ( I have used similar potholders for years and washed them many, many times along with the regular laundry.) They are nice enough to be used as hostess gifts or little thank you\'s. I give mine to friends, neighbors, teachers, nurses, and as surprises.
