A pair of White movement propaganda postcards presumably issued in Kharkov (today's Kharkiv) in 1919 by the local department of OSVAG, the information and propaganda organization of the Armed Forces of South Russia (VSYuR), depicting Generals Anton Ivanovich Denikin (1872–1947) and Lavr Georgievich Kornilov (1870–1918). The Kharkov branch of OSVAG was established in June 1919 following the occupation of the city by the Volunteer Army and operated until the withdrawal of White forces in December of that year, making possible a relatively precise dating of the cards. The organization produced and distributed propaganda literature intended to promote the Volunteer Army and the White cause; contemporary material associated with the Kharkov branch specifically included propaganda directed toward the Kornilov units.
