Offered as a matching lot of three original vintage/antique embossed J.D. Loizeaux Lumber Company plates from Plainfield, New Jersey.
Each plate features bold raised lettering reading:

At the center is a detailed Liberty Bell-style emblem, incorporating the company’s historic telephone identification.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
J.D. Loizeaux was a genuine early Plainfield lumber and building-material company with documented roots going back to 1898.
Period Plainfield directories document the business operating multiple lumber yards and a planing mill while supplying lumber, building materials, doors, trim and related construction supplies.
These small embossed plates were clearly manufactured as identification/nameplates and each has two factory mounting holes, indicating they were intended to be permanently attached to company property or equipment.
Their exact original application is unknown, so they are being offered without claiming a particular vehicle, machine or piece of equipment.

CONDITION
These have not been polished or restored.
The fronts retain a wonderful dark, naturally aged patina with variations between the three examples. The reverse sides retain substantially more of their original yellow/brass-toned appearance.
Expect normal oxidation, discoloration, spotting, scratches and other age-related surface wear consistent with old industrial identification plates.
One of the strongest features of this lot is that all three matching examples have remained together.
