Lot of four antique stereoview cards, all photographed and published by Bell & Bro., Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D.C., a documented Civil War/Reconstruction-era Washington photography firm (the studio later produced Charles Milton Bell, one of Washington\'s most prominent portrait photographers). Each card carries a printed historical description on the reverse and a copyright notice crediting H.H. Bell.
Included: The Smithsonian Institution (the \"Castle\" building); The U.S. Patent Office; The House of Representatives (interior view of the chamber); The U.S. Capitol (exterior view showing the cast-iron dome completed in 1866). Three cards are mounted on yellow stock, one (the Capitol view) on pink/salmon stock — variance consistent with different print runs from the same publisher.
Condition: general age-toning throughout, light wear to corners and edges, consistent with 19th-century card stock of this age. Please review all photos closely as part of the description.
