The Italian are known for making enamel of the highest quality.
Well made buckles with a natural looking subtle swirl and color on the enamel.This large buckle is a gold colored metal with a light and darker topaz natural type look to the enamel.
Approximate size of the belt, purse strap or sash 29mm 1-1-1/8"
Buckles are also used as double loops. The prongs are removed from 2 buckles and attached together with a bit of wiggle room. The other end of the sash or belt is 'woven' through. This works best when the sash is reversible.
Sometimes backpacks have this effect. See bottom 2 pics.These buckles came from a supplier in NYC's garment center that catered to high end designers.We were fortunate to be able to purchase these when the owner retired.
The designers had paid much more for these buckles.
These are vintage and there may be some minor scratches or other imperfections, though we have not noticed any.Made with Old World European craftsmanship
