Vintage matching set of four Gimbels Import Corp. Japanese ceramic beer steins, featuring colorful raised-relief Old World/European folk scenes.Each stein features a different wraparound figural scene with traditionally dressed figures, musicians, village and architectural details, animals and landscape elements. The designs are molded in substantial raised relief over deep cobalt-blue recessed backgrounds, with cream and brown antiqued detailing and distinctive molded branch/tree-form handles.These Japanese-made steins were produced in the traditional German/European relief-ste​​in style for the American import market.Identification & markings: Three of the four steins retain their original round “GIMBELS / IMPORT CORP. / JAPAN” paper labels with globe logo on the underside. The fourth is missing its paper label but matches the other three in form, construction, decoration, borders and handle design and is clearly a companion piece from the same series.Age: Vintage Japanese export ware, likely circa 1970s. Exact production year and Japanese ceramic manufacturer have not been confirmed.Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition.
