An impressive large natural black chert / silicified rock specimen, weighing 4031 g and measuring approximately 20 × 18 × 14 cm.
This substantial specimen displays deep black to dark grey coloration, prominent natural conchoidal fracture patterns, contrasting white mineral veining and areas of brown to golden iron-oxide staining. The fresh surfaces show the smooth, waxy appearance characteristic of fine-grained silicified material.
Collected in the Troodos region of Cyprus, an area internationally known for its distinctive and geologically important rock formations.
The specimen has been left in its natural form, preserving its rugged structure, cavities, fracture surfaces and mineral veins. Its unusually large size and dramatic dark appearance make it an attractive centerpiece for a mineral collection, geological display or natural decorative piece.
