7.5\" x 11\" Framed English Albumen Photo of HMS \"Impregnable\" at Devonport c.1860 For Sale

This 1860\'s era British albumen photo depicts the 98 gun 2nd-rate ship of the line the HMS ImpregniWars sge was the flagship of the Duke of Clarence. Under the command of Admiral David Milne she was second in order of battle at the bombardment of Algiers in 1816 and was severely damaged by the Algerian gunners with substantial casualties. from May 1839-October 1841 she was the Commander in Chief\'s flagship moored at the entrance to the Hamoaze. she then saw service again in the Mediterranean fleet until May, 1843 when she was once again laid up with the reserve fleet at Devonport. She was rated as a training ship in 1862. I think this is about the time of our photo. The photo is nicely framed and mounted in what I think is an antique frame. The photo is 7.5\" x 11\" and the framed size is 12\" x 15\".
