All beautifully captured forever on this gorgeous Christmas card, created by Chuck Gruen, famous for his super, fun, joyous cards and related items, in the early Seventies, and silkscreened to perfection by Editions Limited Studio, Pittsfield, Mass, a legendary printing and art studio known for its 'Mail of Distinction' paper items and art, such as these legendary, very desirable Mid Century Gruen cards! The colors on this card, beautifully and carefully silkscreened, are sublime, even down to all the tiny gold snowflakes our darling girl is walking home in, and the design is just really one to put a smile on anyone's face who receives this card! We think it would be a fabulous decision to frame this charmer up, and perhaps even keep her out all year as a reminder that Christmas is indeed a state of mind and can be anytime you chose. We thought she was really an exceptional piece of artwork, and were not surprised to find out that Chuck Gruen was the Art Director for Neiman Marcus for decades, as well as a fine artist. But it's his adorable Christmas designs, which we've found on cards like this, kitchen towels, gift wrap, etc. that he's so famous for- these adorable colorful figures are famous and known around the world, and after seeing this, we can certainly understand why! A special card to send someone who will really appreciate this as a petite work of art as well as an unique, delightful carrier of holiday wishes, and of course that includes giving this to yourself as a well-deserved gift!
MEASURES: 4 inches X 5.5 inches, silkscreened onto great paper and in mint NOS (New Old Stock) condition, and includes the original, usable envelope. Artwork is by Chuck Gruen and printing was done by Joseph Pelkey's Editions Limited Studios in Pittsfield, Mass. in the early 1970's. Printing on the back of the card is: 'Editions Limited SP 376-72.' The greeting inside is: "The Warmest Wishes of the Season". Great vibrant, happy holiday colors with gold snowflakes, and that adorable sweet face is also gold, with the rosiest of cheeks from a winter's walk after buying her Christmas tree. This is a little gem you're going to enjoy looking at for a long time!
