SIZE: Height: 8 1/2" --- 12 1/2" with lid Diameter: 8" Approximate
CONDITION: This Early American Pressed Glass jar and lid is from the U.S. Glass Art Clear Collection, Oval Diamond Design dating back to1891. The name Teardrop is from the looks of the design. It is large at 12 1/2" and weighs 5 lb. 2 oz. before packaging. A bit hard to find.
There is a tiny nip above the base on the stem. shown in Pic#15 There is a repair of a chip on the finial that the glue has discolored. Shown in Pics. #16 -- #18, hardly noticeable in the display of this beautiful compote / wedding jar. There are a few bubbles in the glass, normal for this era. The rest is in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, stains or repairs. Very clean. Glass is clear. A lovely light catching display.
