Here is a very high end rosewood lap desk, probably circa 1860 , simply take a look at all the brass work ! amazing also has a turner lock (no key ) looks like someone put new felt on it, the secret pin to lock the lower drawer is there , the drawer has very fine dovetails as expected, so as you can see needs some minor tlc there is some veneer loss at the drawer caused by use, there are age seperation on the lid which is natural from shrinkage and age, the upper lid on the inside the little brass locks someone added a piece of metal to try and keep the lid from falling , I love the box just the way it is and you can use it like that ! has great patina and a great look ! heavy handle estate items please ask any questions before making an offer.
