Available for sale is an extremely rare Apollo 11 Launch Ticket *No. 39* from the Estate of a NASA Engineer. Also included in the sale are both his Gold & Silver NASA Career Service Pins!
An invitation ticket, No. 39, for the launch of Apollo 11 at the John F. Kennedy Space Center. Signed in print by Kurt H. Debus, Director. With the Apollo 11 mission emblem on the front of the invitation, and details from NASA on verso. The ticket is issued to the bearer "for his sole, exclusive, personal use". Measuring 5" x 3" Kennedy Space Center, dated ca. July 16, 1969. With light toning at the edges and ghosting of the NASA logo on verso. The ticket is in excellent condition. Ephemeral by nature, surviving examples represent tangible artifacts from the most consequential launch in spaceflight history, commemorating the mission that carried Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins toward mankind's first lunar landing.
An exceptionally low serial number like No. 39 is incredibly significant for a vintage Apollo 11 Launch Pass. Because NASA issued a few thousand passes to guests, staff, and the public, serial numbers in the double digits (under 100) are highly coveted by collectors. They typically indicate that the pass was among the very first printed or assigned directly to top-tier dignitaries, VIPs, or inner-circle NASA personnel. Ticket number 67 sold for $1,500 and ticket number 68 sold for $1,300 at sale in 2022, not including the 25% buyers premium!
This ticket comes from the estate of Richard Enstad of Sandusky Ohio.
He fought for the United States during the Second World War and later went on to become an Engineer for NASA from the mid-1960's through the mid-1980's.
