DETAILS:Original cabinet card photograph of African American sharecroppers sitting on bails of cotton atop a horse driven wagon. Titled: \"Return From Cotton Picking\". Circa 1870. Note the impoverished fate of the sharecroppers. All arebarefoot andwithout proper footwear - this includes theman riding the horse! Also they all bear facial expressions of exhaustion. We have provided a low resolution scan of the image but on higher resolution the details become more pronounced. Measures 8\" x 5\" inches.
CONDITION: Cabinet card photograph has light corner bend / tear on upper left corner - best viewed on image of the back. It is in the border area of the photograph and does not affect the image itself. Otherwise an exceptionally clean cabinet card. See images for further condition details.
