A GENUINE AMISH TURNED HICKORY SOCKET FIRMER CHISEL HANDLE, Style CHJ, by mjdtoolparts. This classic pattern handle measures 5 7/8 inches in length. The tapered socket tip is 1 9/16 inches in length. The socket measures 29/32 inches in diameter at the neck of the tapered tip adjacent to the handle and 21/32 inches in diameter at the tip. To order the correct size for your chisel or gouge, measure the inside diameter at the top of the socket, the diameter at the base of the socket, and the depth of the socket, then compare the measurements to the sizes offered. Some fitting with sandpaper and a chisel will be required to achieve a perfect fit. Always order a size slightly larger than the socket of your chisel or gouge if an exact fit is not available.
