Taken with the Kodak No. 1 camera, 1889-1895. Verso worn, but says “This photograph is made with a KODAK CAMERA. …..hern…in agency, Howland & Chadwick, 211 south Main street, opposite Cathedral, Los Angeles” (street address completed using 1890 Los Angeles directory - they were photographic suppliers).
In pencil on verso: “Mother wears 6¼ gloves.” The image is 2½” in diameter and the card is 5½” x 4¼” (the exact size of a Cabinet card, so this could fit into one of those ugly velvet Victorian albums made for Cabinet cards).
