DESCRIPTION
Attractive two-tone stoneware jug in a rich brown Albany slip glaze over a natural tan salt-glazed body. One-gallon size. Stenciled label reads in full "WEST END / WINE & SPIRITS CO. / WHOLESALE AND RETAIL / LIQUOR DEALERS / 15 TO 19 LEVERETT STREET / BOSTON, MASS."
The West End Wine & Spirits Company is documented in the first decade of the 20th century. They remained in business until the beginning of the Prohibition era, around 1920.
CONDITION
Overall very good antique condition. Structurally sound and intact. No cracks or evidence of repair. Some very minor roughage along the base rim (all visible in the images).
