Antique 19th-century Burgess & Goddard Royal Patent Ironstone pitcher, featuring a deep burgundy/maroon band with gold gilt trim and molded decorative accents.The underside bears the Royal Patent Ironstone – Burgess & Goddard mark with Royal Arms. Burgess & Goddard traded in the American market from approximately the 1840s through the 1890s, importing English earthenware and ironstone.This is an attractive surviving example with a graceful flared spout, molded handle and rich burgundy decoration.Measures approximately 7.25 inches tall at the highest point and weighs approximately 1 lb 6 oz unpacked.Condition: Good antique condition for its considerable age. There is visible surface scratching/scuffing to the burgundy band, wear and loss to the original gold gilt decoration, and other normal signs of age and use. No obvious major chips or cracks observed.
