Antique 1860's Middletown Healing Springs VT Mineral Water Honey Amber Bottle For Sale

This beautiful, authentic 19th-century Middletown Healing Springs mineral water bottle from Middletown Springs, Vermont measures approximately 9 1/2" tall. This classic Saratoga-style quart bottle dates back from the late 1860's or 1870's and was hand blown, likely at the historic Stoddard glasshouse in New Hampshire, The front features crisp, bold embossed lettering that reads "Middletown Healing Springs Grays & Clark Middletown VT" Made from a rich, deep honey amber glass, it features an applied sloping collared mouth, along with a smooth base. As shown in the close up photos, the glass displays magnificent period character, boasting a beautifully whittled texture covered in hundreds of tiny, embedded seed bubbles (and a few large ones) and minor swirl lines from the manufacturing process. When backlit, the bottle glows with a brilliant clean honey amber color that makes the embossed lettering pop beautifully from behind. This particular specimen is in exceptional condition, with excellent original surface gloss and clarity. There are no cracks, chips, flea bites or bruises and it is completely clean with no stains, cloudiness or "glass sickness". If you have been waiting for a top notch example to add to your collection, this is it! What a stunner, one of the nicest examples we have come across in a long time!
