Beautiful antique clear glass double-handled oil or kerosene lamp, sometimes called a marriage lamp or unity lamp. The opposing handles made this style convenient and secure to carry from room to room.
The lamp has a rounded font above two graceful applied handles and a decorative circular foot. The original 1868 patent date is embossed on the underside of the base. It is extremely faint and nearly impossible to read after more than 150 years of age and use.
Fitted with a brass No. 1 Eldorado burner with wick installed. The thumb wheel turns properly. Included is the lovely original chimney with its hand-formed, rolled and ruffled top rim—an especially attractive feature and increasingly difficult to find intact.
The lamp is complete and ready to use or display.

Very nice antique condition with expected surface wear, discoloration and patina to the brass components from age and use. The original patent lettering on the base is heavily worn and obscured. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are part of the description.
