Original circa-1890s advertising merchandise tag from Henry T. Hagen, a wholesale and retail dealer in beef, veal, lamb, provisions, poultry and game at Booth No. 2, Washington Market, New York City. Features the early telephone listing “962 Cortlandt” and a faded red “PERISHABLE” stamp.
Measures approximately 5 3/8” x 2 5/8”.
In heavily worn antique condition with overall staining and discoloration, holes have rust staining around them, creasing—including a larger crease on the right side—and one missing corner. Additional surface and edge wear from age. Printing remains mostly clear and readable.
