Item Description: Up for sale is an original, authentic antique 1896 political campaign lapel stud featuring William Jennings Bryan.This historic 7/8" item was produced for Bryan's historic first presidential run against William McKinley. It features a sepia-toned portrait of Bryan with the bold wrapping text reading: "FOR PRESIDENT WM. J. BRYAN". Instead of a standard pinback mechanism, this piece retains its original, vintage metal stud back intended for a jacket lapel buttonhole.Condition Note:The piece is in heavily aged/used vintage condition. The celluloid front features severe, highly visible spiderweb cracking, fracturing, and crazing across the surface. There is some minor rim tarnish/wear. The reverse metal shank and backing disc display considerable surface patina, darkening, and oxidation common for its extreme age (over 130 years old).
