Condition:
Antique set of 2 dating to 1898. Condition varies between the two plates; one is in noticeably better overall condition than the other.
Both exhibit extensive age-related glaze crazing, surface/decorative wear, discoloration and wear/loss to the ornate gold decoration.
The lesser-condition plate has more pronounced age discoloration/crazing and visible old hairline cracks, particularly evident from the reverse. The better-condition plate presents more strongly overall but also shows antique crazing and normal decorative/gold wear.
No major missing sections observed. Please carefully review all front, reverse and detailed close-up photographs to evaluate each plate individually. Sold exactly as photographed. Buyer receives both exact plates shown.

Scarce matched pair of antique 1898 Pittsburgh Commandery No. 1 Knights Templar XXVII Triennial commemorative wildlife plates.
Made by Knowles, Taylor & Knowles Co., East Liverpool, Ohio, with period maker’s marks on the reverse.
Each plate features a different game-bird/wildlife scene surrounded by a striking deep cobalt-blue border with elaborate gold decoration.
The central decoration includes the Knights Templar crown-and-cross emblem, together with:
